Planting stock

The garden nursery of JSC "Alfa-Nistru" with the irrigated area of 61 hectares was founded in 1997.
   Today the nursery disposes of a large botanical collection, gardens for producing grafts and cuttings and vegetatively propagated virus free stock.
   The collection of fruit shrubs and strawberry includes:

• Blackcurrant - 12 varieties;
• Rose currant- 2 varieties;
• Raspberry - 4 varieties;
• Strawberry - 8 varieties;
• Whitecurrant - 2 varieties;
• Redcurrant - 2 varieties.

New varieties are studied at the site and are registered by the "State examination of crop varieties". The gardens for producing apple tree grafts - 4 virus free types, licensed, with the right for production.
   The gardens for producing pear tree grafts - 12 virus free types, districted and having prospects.
   The gardens for growing vegetatively propagated virus free understock - М-9, ММ-106, М-7, P-22, P-14, P-59, P-60. The M-7, P-22, P-14, P-59, P-60 understock are studied under certain conditions and are afterwards delivered to the "State examination of crop varieties".
   We provide the following varieties of apricot understock: Kostyujensky, Krasnoschyoky, Moldavsky olympyets, Nadejda.
   The nursery of JSC "Alfa-Nistru" disposes of productive potential of 600 000 - 800 000 units of understock a year.
   Production of fruit shrubs and strawberry planting stock makes up 1,0 - 1,2 mil units per year.

The nursery has a rich gene pool of plants and variety of understock, which is highly competitive in the foreign market. The association has a modern laboratory, equipped with all necessary equipment for examining understock, tree grafts, and propagated plants in order to guarantee virus free planting stock production.
